Gnomakiin

I think this little fella looks like he's determind to show the rest of the garden that he's big and tough even if you wouldn't think it by looking at him. You might have to stiffle a giggle or two at the thought of this tiny gnome going up against huge dragons. He may be tiny, but his secret is to use his voice for power. If he shouts in the dragon language "Fus Gnome Da!" then the dragon will surely be defeated. Silly little guy, I don't think he realizes that dragons are kin to all gnomekind, but I suppose that doesn't change the fact that **IF** a dragon were to even **THINK** about attacking, he would be ready. He has been practicing. He's not afraid! Besides, he's made of wool so he's a gnatural fire retardant! He's so confident that he can't seem to stop the trailer voice in his head saying:

"You should have acted. They're already here.
The Elder Scrolls told of their return. Their defeat was merely delay.
For the time after Oblivion opened,
when the sons of Skyrim would spill their own blood.
But no-gnome wanted to believe - believe they existed.
And when the truth finally dawns, it dawns in FIRE...
But there is one they fear.
In their tongue he is Gnomakiin - Dragongnome-born.
FUS GNOME DA!!!!!"

Guardian of the Strawberry Patch

It's no secret that strawberries are delicious, but the ones that are grown by gnomes are particularly sweet and juicy. So it should come as no surprise that the town council voted unanimously the strawberry patch needs to be protected. Not just anygnome can qualify for such an important job. We need a master of the mind, a master of disguise, a master of all things green... who better to protect the patch than a master gardener?! Now that the strawberries are safe, the gnome colony has no worries about having enough berries for their upcoming strawberry festival. It's one of the best events of the year!

Love Potion #9

One day this snuggle soul came across a peddler of potions selling bottles galore from atop of a small rock. He was selling everything from fairy dust to sparkle sneezes. He even had a bottle of dragon scales sitting next to a bottle of green who-knows-what. However, it was a pink bottle with a big #9 on it that caught her attention. There was no way she was going to let an opportunity like this pass - it was THE Love Potion #9!!! Without hesitation, she exchanged a couple garden pebbles for the pink bottle and hurried on her way. She knew exactly the right gnome to try it on. She had been admiring him from afar and was all giddy with excitement that he would finally love her in return. She was so giddy, in fact, that she tripped over a stone and fell to the ground. The sparkly bottle of love flew into the air and opened, showering pink dust on top of her head. In an instant the garden seemed brighter and she just HAD to smile and do a happy dance. As the twitterpated soul skipped through the garden, she came upon her secret love. And when he saw her carefree love for life, he was hooked too. Hmmm... My guess is that wasn not EXACTLY how the potion is supposed to work its magic, but I'm sure you won't find either of them complaining.

My Daughter

My daughter is VERY friendly and such a social butterfly who will talk to anygnome anywhere. In face, she'll run right up to other gnomes and say "Come to my house soon!" She means it every time. It seems that this little butterfly of mine is always on the go. She loves to garden, chasing butterflies, watching rainbows, climbing trees and even swimming. The silly little gnomeling loves to put make-up on herself and even on her Mummy. It would make you giggle if you saw, because it more resembles war paint than anything else, but one look at her eyes and you just KNOW that she is proud to show the gnome community how pretty her Mummy is. Oh the things we do for our gnomelings! My daughter and I, we do everything together, but most dear to my heart are the times when we are baking, watching movies or even simple moments like sitting down and reading books and playing board games. She is very cuddly and loving before we say "Gnight Gnight" and we always give each other love hearts before closing our eyes to sleep. To say my daughter is the light of my life just doesn't give her enough credit. As for myself, I just love her.

World Traveler

I'd be willing to bet that you'd be surprised by how many corners of the garden this little lady has been to. She has visited gardens so exotic that anygnome would be jealous. Whether it be a hot garden in the desert with the sun beating down on her face, beautiful sandy beaches with bright aqua colored oceans as far as the eye can see, jungles with trees so high that one can't help but wonder if they ever end, or cities where the lights twinkle as though they were trying to be as bright as the stars... this lady has visited them all! She loves everything about traveling, whether it be by boat, train, bus or even on her own two feet, there is gnothing better than exploring areas of this big garden that she has yet to see. Every garden is so different, each with their own Gnomish traditions, but she always has her camera close by. She loves meeting gnomes and trying to capture the beauty of the gnomes, their traditions and the garden she is visiting so that she can show the other gnomes in the community the importance of travel and learning about different cultures. There is gnothing better than waking up in a gnew place, smelling gnew scents, eating gnew foods, hearing gnew voices and accents. I'll let you in on a little secret - being uncomfortable in a place like that is how she learns more about herself and the world around her.

Shabby Chic

What is there to say about this gnomette? I think plenty. She loves loves loves all things shabby chic and gets all giddy at the idea of mixing vintage papers with bits of laces and old buttons or buckles that she finds in the garden. Every time she finds a little bits like that, she finds it so difficult to believe that any soul would ever lose such a treasure. Once she collects all her findings, she can't help but do a little happy dance just thinking of all the pretty things she will make from them! On her way home, she can't help but stop to look old stone workshop in the garden - someday she's going to fix it up all gnice and pretty like so that she has a cozy place to teach other gnomes her special secret to turning old junk into beautiful creations, treasured by many. But for now, she continues on her way, all the while filling her little head with great big plans for when that day comes. She has so much to do to prepare, and so many ideas for gnew projects that she simply can gnot keep still. It seems that this little lady always has a little bounce in her step, and seeing the smiles that her little creations bring to somegnome's face... well I can see why she's so excited. Good luck, little lady!

Tiny Expectations

For such small souls, gnomes sure do have tiny expectations that come with great big potentials! This gnomette, for example, thought for sure she was seeing pink in her future, only to discover that it's another shade of blue. She may gnever know the feeling of shopping for pretty bows or shoes, or teaching her daughter what colors to wear on those special occasions that require just a little extra prettiness. She may not share little whispers of secrets about boys and daydreams, but I assure you this is because she has been given an equally important task of teaching her boys how to become the grown gnomes they're capable of becoming. This is a big task and the responsibility is great - gnot only does this mean encouraging the young gnomelings to reach for the stars and catch them, but also teaching them to treat other gnomes with respect and compassion. She will teach them to find that tiny place that within every gnome's soul which they gneed to fall in love with their special one. They're going to gneed to treat her like the princess she is sure to be. Of course, they'll learn to gnever forget Mother's Day and always have a hug ready for every gnomette in their life. It may sound like a challenge to you and me, but this little lady makes it look easy. Sure she might have thought there was pink in her future, but this gnew shade of blue was just what her little family gneeded. Gnow her family is complete and she's more than honored to be the one to teach her boys how to express all the potential they have stored in their tiny bodies.

Wee Pint

Take a look at this wee pint! He tends to keep to himself, but I love his quiet strength, his determination and, quite honestly, his geekiness. He loves to read books and is a master at understanding technology and information security. As you can imagine, gnot many gnomes can say that of themselves! But that's his day job. What this fella REALLY loves is a good pint of Guinness! He even once made it his priority to go to the factory itself! Once there, he drank a pint from the top of the factory, overlooking Dublin below. I wouldn't be surprised if he even insisted that was the best tasting pint he's ever had. Maybe it was the view? Since he knows the proper way a Guinness should be poured and has been known to obsess over it a time or two... well let's just say that I'll take his word for it. Gnuzzling up close to his loved one, united by a gnever-ending knot of love, and a good pint of Guinness by his side... well life in the beer garden just can't get any better. Sláinte!

Balance

It might take you by surprise to hear that this little gnomette loves to play games with elves and goblins. She is so good at gaming that it seems she can always out-play any soul who dares to challenge her. She's even been known to play with a few trolls (cute ones, of course) from time to time and happens to be in love with an orc! You can imagine the gossip that leads to! But her favorite is definitely Myoha the tauren. Myoha teaches this little lady how to use the balance of gnature to bring peace to the land. If you saw her in the garden, going about her typical day, you'd gnotice that she lives life much the same. Somehow she manages to balance her garden duties with the tasks that make her smile, all the while she always gives priority to her family. How does she make it look so easy? She's so good at all of it! This little gnomette can always surprise others with her brilliant craft and paintings. It's so apparent that she takes extra time and consideration to bring forth a variety of handmade creations, each instantly becoming a treasure for a loved one. Caring, compassionate and always ready to be a friend and a mom... this gnomette is a blessing to all those around her and brings balance to their lives as well!

Sitting Pretty

Look at this little lady sitting pretty on top of her squishy mushroom perch! Doesn't she look happy? Of course she does, and who can blame her? Her life is filled with lots of warm and fuzzy softness that she can't help but smile. Here is a soul who brings so much beauty into the garden through her colorful quilted creations, each warm and snuggly and filled with love. She attends many groups both by the ocean and up in the apple woods to interact with other gnomettes who quilt. She loves to volunteer her time and talents to share her creations and has made everything from quilts and teddy bears to give to those in gneed. We're so blessed to be able to have dozens of her beautiful creations to add warmth to our quaint farmhouse, each one filled with happy thoughts. She sits pretty on her perch, thinking of the gnext thing she'll quilt her love into. She is so very talented and so very willing to make these gorgeous warm fuzzies to show the love she has for her family. Like I said, it's gno wonder she looks so happy. Everything she creates is filled with love and warm happy wishes.

What's in a kindred spirit?

I'm sure everygnome has their own definition for what a kindred spirit is. Perhaps they think of somegnome who likes to be outdoors listening to the birds sing? Or maybe they have in mind somegnome who laughs at every little joke they say? Sometimes a kindred spirit is simply somegnome who would rather spend 5 minutes with you than be anywhere else in the entire garden. Personally, the gnomes in my garden have met a few kindred spirits, and though there was an instant connection with each, it is all for different reasons. Take this silly little monkey, for example... What a treasure her friendship has become! Right from the start, it was obvious that she loves to encourage the young gnomelings to laugh and play. Not only has she tried to go out of her way to give a wonderful gift as a snuggle buddy to keep a young gnomeling in gneed feel safe and warm, but she has done so on so many occasions. It seems that she understands that every young soul deserves to be warm and fuzzy and to feel loved. It's that amazing love for the young ones and her generous gnature that told the gnomes that this monkey fits right into our garden. A kindred spirit indeed, and a friendship that is sure to last season upon season!

Creative Kitty

Oh I love this fuzzy little soul. Just look how happy she is! It makes me smile to see her finally doing something she enjoys. She recently discovered yarn! Oh what a gloriously warm and fuzzy thing that yarn can be. She just loves to play with all the bright colors and see what creations she can come up with. Gnothing makes her smile more than making something warm and cosy for a loved one, especially her tiny grand-gnomelings! All boys, but all full of energy that can't wait to burst out and fill her soul with laughter. It's true that money can't buy happiness, but it can buy yarn... and that's pretty much the same thing. What this happy Creative Kitty does with that yarn is magic, and THAT brings happiness to all the gnomes around her.

Polka-Dots

If there is one thing this bright soul loves more than anything else in the entire garden, it's polka dots. Whether it be a tiny ladybug, a good spotted umbrella, a tasty chocolate chip cookie or even misplaced domino, there is something about polka dots that makes her smile. Whenever she sees them, she can't help but do a tiny little happy polka. As silly as that sounds, it just seems appropriate, wouldn't you agree? That's how happy they make her. Hand her a paintbrush and some paints, and it won't be long before her habit of painting polka dots on just about everything she sees becomes apparent. She giggles when she explains her motto, "When in doubt, polka dot!" So, it should come as gno surprise where this giddy little lady has found a home... You guessed it. She has found a wonderfully squishy polka dotted toadstool home in which to rest her tired polka dancing feet! Life can't get any better than this!

Tiny Reminders

Everygnome in the community gneeds to find THEIR place in the garden. This goes beyond the relatively easy task of finding a gnice cozy gnook to call home, it also means they gneed to understand their role in making the garden a prettier place. Some gnomes decide to paint beautiful pictures while others help loved ones any chance they get. Some gnomes make the garden better by building cozy gnests and others invent gnew ways to get work done. There are so many options that it's gnot an easy decision to make, gno matter the gnome, but look at this itty bitty tiny little soul. She's so much smaller than most gnomes (and that says a lot), that she can't help but wonder what difference she can make. Shyly she sits quietly watching others go about their daily duties. She smiles at how productive they look. Much to her surprise, the busy souls can't help but pause and smile for a moment when they gnotice how cute she is standing there so innocently. Giving busy souls a tiny reminder to pause for a moment and smile? That sounds like one of the best ways to make the garden a better place EVER!!!

Home is Where the Heart is

Everygnome has heard the saying "Home is where the heart is," and this tiny soul was gno exception. Ever since she was a tiny gnomeling, she looked forward to having a tiny place in the garden to call her own. She has spent many seasons looking for the perfect home. Silly girl. Instead of looking for comfy little gnook that makes her feel warm and fuzzy, she took the saying quite literally. Around the garden she would go, searching and searching for a heart. After all, THAT'S where her home would be because that's what she was told. She looked in the fields of grass - no heart, though she did find shelter under a happy dandelion. She looked in the forests of flowers - no heart, though she did love the scents that filled the air. She even looked along the creek side - no heart, though she did love the sounds of the bubbling water. A little disheartened, she sat down against a tree trunk and sighed. It wasn't long before the songs that the birds sang from the branches above her filled her heart and put a smile on her face. "What a wonderfully perfect place," thought the little gnome. Then suddenly, a gust of wind came and she found herself covered by a leaf that had fallen from the tree. Shaking it off, she couldn't believe what she saw! A heart! She found it! At last, she found her home!

Ellie's Garden

There's a tiny little corner in the garden that, upon first glance, seems typical enough. There is a girl who lives in this corner and she dreams her pretty dreams, snuggled up gnext to a good cuddle buddy, and reads her books about pirates, fairies or dragons. She gives her sister plenty of hugs and always has a supply of little friends waiting to see what types of adventures she has in store for them today. At first glance, this little corner appears like a typical child's room, but take a moment or two and you'll see that it is touched by magic. This corner is touched by Ellie's imagination. Welcome to Ellie's garden - where inside every tulip, daffodil or bluebell lives a little gnome. Everyday is kissed by a shower of sunshine rain and the entire community is out enjoying the dance. Dew drops glisten like diamonds and happy thoughts are the only form of currency. A good hug is just a small hike down the path to the gnearest gneighbor, and a friendly thought is all it takes to put a smile on a gnome's face. Only time will tell what kind of adventures are in store for those living in this wonderful little garden, but with an imagination like Ellie's, I'm sure they can inspire many books to come!

Sweet Tooth Fairy

Meet the Sweet Tooth Fairy. She smells like rich hot chocolate and is squishy like a marshmallow. Everygnome knows she loves chocolate, ice cream and any other sweet yummy thing that comes to mind. Like myself, she has small stashes of candy and sweets set aside for those must have moments, though she'll happily share if she comes across somegnome else in gneed of a sweet lil' pick me up! Sometimes this sweet soul can be a little gnaughty and takes gnibbles from kids' chocolate when they are sleeping. After all, it certainly couldn't be Mommy who ate it! Her favorite challenge is to catch you when you least expect it - after dinner when your tummy is full to the brim. Somehow she still manages to cast her little spell and entice you to finish your meal with a little something sweet. I wouldn't be surprised if she's even responsible for stitching your clothes just a little bit tighter! Some might say she is a menace to dieters across the entire garden, but nognome can resist her charm. I must admit, the Sweet Tooth Fairy visits me more often than she should. She will get us all eventually.... chocolate anyone?

As for Hiking and Daisies...

Just look at this pretty little lady! It looks like she's ready for an adventure, and if you ask me, she just GETS IT. She knows it's not about being flashy. It's not about being bold. It's about being simple, peaceful, beautiful and classic. Enough said. Why else would she love daisies so much? They always make her think of her love and bring a smile to her face. Rightfully so. Another peaceful classic? Hiking. While she wishes she hiked more (which gnome doesn't?), she does love being outside. She just loves getting up into the mountains and smelling the pine. It reminds her of camping as a young gnomeling. She loves to pitch a small tent and camp the gnight away. Being out in the warm air enjoying the view and all that mother gnature has to offer... well it's gnearly impossible to get any more peaceful. It's apparent that her spirituality lives outside and in all the forces gnature has to offer, whether it's in the ocean and the powerful waves or in the quiet of a mountain top or valley by a stream. I may gnot be religious, but if you ask me I think she may be right, don't you?

The Ice Dragon

I know a boy who is super inquisitive and bright. He has a great smile and a sense of humor to match, knowing just when to be serious even though he loves to be so silly. He likes to not only explore, but also understand the garden around him. He loves science with a bit of adventure and fantasy. I suppose it goes without saying that dragons fit right into his corner of the garden. Dragons are easy to like because they have magical powers. Their different colors represent different types of power. White tones (the boy's favorite color) hold the power of ice and snow, and with that power the dragon protects his castle and the magical land it looks down upon. Personally, I'd like to be under the protection of an ice dragon. He's a lucky boy, that one... but the garden is even luckier for the magic his inquisitive mind brings to it.

Dame

There is gno one way to describe this little gnome. She is definitely a bright star in the garden in many ways. Being witty, funny, and a critical thinker comes gnaturally to this one. She also knows how to be a best friend and touch the life of many. There is gnothing this gnome can't do if she sets her mind to it. Or fire to it, just to watch it glow. This gnome would only joke about things like that to make her friends laugh. Gno matter how well her friends know her, they can still be surprised with her humor and wit and the next be amazed at her gentle beauty. With her love of vintage apparel, such as a cloche hat and fur scarf, one could imagine her a dame from an old detective gnovel - glamorous, yet always ready to solve a mystery!

Guinness

There is gno doubt that this little gnome likes his beer! That's gnot all he likes, though. He treasures his friends with a fierce loyalty. He is always ready to help his loved ones individually and talk over coffee or be the perfect host and have them all over for some good beer and games. He has gnever stayed in one place very long and is determined to explore far beyond the garden wall. He loves to see gnew cultures and meeting gnew friends! This little gnome also knows how to work hard. He will do whatever it takes to follow his dreams even if that means relocating. Gno garden flood is going to stop him from learning! Gnow look at him! He is well on his way down his chosen path. Work hard, play hard, this little gnome lives life to the fullest!

Blaheen

This fair Irish lass has come out of her warm home to finally greet spring! She takes delight in gnew life and gnew opportunities, as her gname means "blossom" in gaelic. Among the gnew flowers and creatures that visit the garden in the spring, she is always looking out for that lucky four-leaf clover! Even without it, though, she knows that she is always lucky in her friends and family that support her. She brings a smile to all, and so much color to the garden around her as she reminds them that a gnew day always comes. She may look delicate, but she is ready to greet the change gnew opportunities bring and treat each beginning as a blessing.

The Phoe-Gnix

It used to be that periodically this tiny soul would get super sick with essentially flu like symptoms. She wouldn't be able to do much other than lay on a comfy leaf and try to get through it. Poor little lady - her body was destroying itself, yet somehow she would always manage to be reborn from the ashes and spring back to life again. And oh what a life it is! This Phoe-Gnix brings so much inspiration to her loved ones in the garden! They know that they can always turn to her for support and kindness and it seems that she always has a contageous smile on her face. And get this... she is even going to help ME bring more color into the garden! Just by knowing her, I am blessed. I'm sure other gnomes would line up to say the same.

The Legend of the Dragonfly

Gnomish legend tells of a family of grubs who could gnot understand why their loved ones gnever came back after crawling up the lily stems to the top of the water. A particularly loving grub promised to tell the others what happened to him when he was called to make the climb. Once he rested himself on top of the lily pad, he made a magical transformation into a dragonfly! In vain he tried to keep his promise, flying back and forth for his loved ones to see, but he soon realized they simply did gnot recognize him. Still, there was gnothing he wanted more than their happiness so he decided to continue to watch over his loved ones to help keep them safe. This little soul thinks that the Gnomish legend is so inspirational that he, too, has decided to help protect the things that matter the most, whether it be looking over his loved ones or guarding the family treasures. The dragonfly has a special place in his heart so he will always know he is surrounded by love.

On the Wings of Imagination

You may have gnoticed that it's spring time. Perhaps you've heard the birds chirping their merry songs? Or perhaps you've seen the daffodils begin to show their happy faces. I'd be willing to bet, though, that you've missed more than you've seen. Do you feel that faint spring breeze? That's actually little gnymphs buzzing past your ears. Do you see the blossoms fall gently from the cherry trees? That's those same crazy gnome gnymphs playing tag in the branches. You don't believe me, do you? Try this... Go find a young gentle child who has a great deal of imagination. Chances are she LOVES dragons, bugs, trees, and the like. Ask her to look around the garden and tell you what she sees. My bet is she sees it all. She sees the magic in the dew drop diamonds and tree stump castles. She sees the little gnomes frolicking in the grass and the fairies flying from flower to flower. Maybe if you squint your eyes, tilt your head and allow yourself to believe, then you too can see the great heights you can achieve on the wings of imagination.

Daffodil Cheer

It's hard to decide which season is most loved by the gnomes in the garden, but one thing is for certain - when you see the daffodils popping up through the last remaining patches of snow, you can't help but smile. There is something about their excitement for spring that they can't seem to contain any longer. It's the daffodils that seem to be the first ones to cheer spring on with unspoken words of encouragement, and everygnome loves spring time because that's when all the tiny gnomelings make their first appearance in the garden. It's a magical time, but I'll be honest... when I see the very first daffodil show its bright face, I can't help but think of my own mother and the words of encouragement she has given me throughout the seasons. Sometimes they're spoken, and sometimes they're silent, but they're always what I have gneeded. My mother - always cheering me on - has shown me the type of gnome I want to be... one who knows just when a little snuggle is gneeded... one who knows the right words to say to convince their gnomelings that they can do anything they set their hearts to.

Tiny Treasure Keeper

I would like you to meet a very special friend. I have given him the most important job that comes to mind. He is your new Treasure Keeper! He may gnot look big and tough to you, but I can assure you he is perfect for the job! Here's how it works... First go find an adventure, or let an adventure find you, then decide what plain looking items you find are holding a bit of magic inside. Whether it be a small rock, button, twig, bead, coin or even a jingle bell, it's up to you to decide which treasures are worth keeping. There is only one rule about deciding which items are worth more than they appear, and that is this: they must put a smile on your face and give your tummy warm happy thoughts. Perhaps your favorite small photo will do? Once you have found your happy thoughts, give them to your Treasure Keeper and he will be sure to guard them and keep them safe. And that's gnot all, gno siree! He happens to be great at keeping gnightmares away and always has a little cuddle in store if you ever gneed your bucket refilled. Sounds like the perfect tiny friend to me! Let the treasure hunting begin!

Once you have found your happy thoughts, give them to your Treasure Keeper and she will be sure to guard them and keep them safe. And that's gnot all, gno siree! She happens to be great at keeping gnightmares away and always has a little cuddle in store if you ever gneed your bucket refilled. Sounds like the perfect tiny friend to me! Let the treasure hunting begin!
