Berry Power!

You know how it goes. The little gnomelings are alway full of energy and trying to think of new games to play. They love to run around and laugh. One of their favorites is pretending to be super heros, and it comes as no surprise that all these little strawberry kisses want to be the same hero when they grow up. There's no convincing them that there is anygnome more cool than the Guardian of the Strawberry Patch. He's always ready for adventure! The strawberry kisses donn their costumes and chant their own mottos while leaping across the field... "Strawberry fields forever!" "Hippidy Ho and away I go!" "Step away from the berries!" and "Berry Power!" are just some of the silly things you may hear amongst the giggles.

PERSONAL GNOTE:
I'm so excited about the way my fruit gnomes are developing their own personalities. I think the idea of gnomes disuising themselves as the part of the garden they're from is adorable and I have other ideas in mind to continue that theme. This little posse came about from my attempt to explore different colors of strawberries. As you can see, some have white seeds while other have black or yellow. I also messed around with the size of the seeds just to see how it looked. They are all different but they all turned out so cute, don't you think?

Gnorwegian Gnelson

Ve just love Gnorwegian Gnelson! She is a proud little gnomette, but you wouldn't know it if you met her because she doesn't tink she is any more special than da gnext gnome. She just tries her best to be honest and sincere, and dat has won her many friends, don't cha know? Gnelson just loves to share jokes with her friends. Have you heard the one about Ole and the doctor? Ole went to his Doctor for a physical, complaining about his gnookie life. The Doc told him to walk ten yards a day, den call him on da phone. A week later, Ole telephoned his Doctor. "How's your gnookie life," inquired the Doc. "What gnookie?" blurted the Gnorwegian. "I'm seventy yards from home!" Oh, dat's a good one, Gnelson. She just smiles timidly and says, "Now, if you will excuse me, I really must be going. Uff da! Where did I put my flowers?" Hehehe... dere on your head, Gnelson. Right where you left dem.

PERSONAL GNOTE:
My first custom order! She was fun to make, but I especially loved reading up on Norwegian jokes. Thanks, Angie!

Lucky Day

Today is a lucky day! Look what this little lad has found! He was just walking through the clover patch on his way home and he stumbled to the ground, and landed on his nose, but when he opened his eyes, right there in front of him was a four leaf clover! How lucky indeed! Not very many gnomes are lucky enough to find such a treasure. Just wait until his friends see this... Now he's sure to have good fortune for the rest of the year!

PERSONAL NOTE:
Another little gnome for my shop. I figured that people might start looking for St. Patrick's Day stuff soon. So cute! Someone please buy a gnome! :)

Tiny Thumper

Shhh! Do you hear that? Listen closely. It sounds like a tiny thump thump thump. Oh! I know where it's coming from! It's coming from this tiny thumper. Every where she goes it seems she brings an bitty upbeat beat along with her. It's obvious that she loves music and wants to share it with the world. Why? Because once the music starts, she knows she just has to thump along to the beat. It may start with her nose twitching, but inevitably it seems to spread throughout her bitty body until she is thumping to the beat from tip top to rump bump. She just can't stop herself. From jingling bluebells to trumpeting lilies - as long as it has a beat, she'll put it in her pocket and take it along with her until the day comes when she, or somegnome she loves, needs a bit of a pick-me-up. Works like a charm!

Guardian of the Strawberry Patch II

It's no secret that strawberries are delicious, but the ones that are grown by gnomes are particularly sweet and juicy. So it should come as no surprise that the town council voted unanimously the strawberry patch needs to be protected. Not just anygnome can qualify for such an important job. We need a master of the mind, a master of disguise, a master of all things green... who better to protect the patch than a master gardener?! Now that the strawberries are safe, the gnome colony has no worries about having enough berries for their upcoming strawberry festival. It's one of the best events of the year!

PERSONAL GNOTE:
Ok... So I thought that my Forget Me Gnot angel gnome was the most precious of them all, but then I met this fellow. OMG! Is he not the definition of cuteness that gnomes stand for??? He's my second strawberry gnome and though I loved my my first strawberry, I think this one tops my list now. I LOVE how he has FEET and a TAIL!!!! I have to give Michael credit for that one. Anyway... he's going up in my shop later today!

One Lump or Two?

Some gnomes believe there is nothing better than an afternoon tea in the garden. The dainty hats, sugar snap cookies and mint tea served in buttercups - it's all so frilly. And gnomes LOVE frilly! But these three wee tea drinkers know that it's not really the frills that make tea time so much fun. It's the company! And they LOVE to have tea together. The gossipping, laughing and reminiscing of good times together is what makes tea time so magical. Everygnome wishes they had more time for tea with their loved ones, and it's no different for these gals. The mother cherishes every opportunity to recapture the memories she shares with her two daughters. And boy are there some doozies! So, would you like one lump or two with your tea, and please... do tell me more!

Forget Me Gnot

Our little ones whisper,
"Forget me not",
As their specialness wraps
around our heart.
Their short little lives
Hold meaning and love.
Their spirits have touched
us-each and everyone.
They have left their gifts
For us to uncover,
If we open our eyes,
our hearts and our lives.
The road to discovery
is hilly and dark.
Will we long harbor the pain
or set our wings for the light?
Our lives have been changed,
our paths filled with sorrow.
Yet their memories embrace us
and our love lasts forever.
If we open our hearts,
their gifts shall unfold,
as we
forget them not.

PERSONAL GNOTE:
Sometimes the words just don't come. And sometimes that's ok. As much as I tried, I just couldn't write a cute little gnome story for such a sad event. I found the poem above from a Google search for "Forget me not poem" but I can not tell who wrote it. My heart feels heavy as I know there is not much I can do or say. I hope this little angel can work some magic that I could not. Even if just a little. Hugs to my loved ones for their loss. I love you!

Bitty Hopper

Take a look at this bitty hopper! You wouldn't know it by looking at her, but she's not the quiet, timid little gnomette that she appears to be. Once the music starts, she can't help but dance around. It starts with her nose twitching. Then it seems to spread throughout her bitty body until she is twitching to the beat from tip top to rump bump. She just can't stop herself. She loves all music, whether it be from the trumpeting lilies to the jingling bluebells; but it's the Hippity Hoppity music that really ignites her soul. Once the beat starts, there is no stopping her!

Lucky Laddy

This little gnomette knows that she is one of the luckiest gnomes in the colony because she has one of the best jobs in the entire garden. She's responsible for tending to the clover patch, which is a very highly challenging job. And she loves a challenge! Her favorite part, though, is when she gets to hide the four leaf clovers. They can't be placed just anywhere or everygnome would know exactly where to look for their lucky clover. No, she has to consider all her options and then choose the places that are most secret or most likely to be found by a gnome who truly needs the extra bit of lucky. Once she has all the four leaf clovers hidden, it's so difficult for her to keep their locations secret because of course she wants all of her friends to be the gnomes who find the lucky clovers. But that's part of the challenge, and so she waits patiently and tries not to show her excitement when a gnome gets close to one of the lucky charms.

PERSONAL GNOTE:
This is the first gnome I made to sell in my Etsy shop. It feels weird to make a gnome that isn't for a specific person but I'm thinking that I need to have some that are ready-to-ship because my "custom" ones just don't seem to be selling.

Lucky Lad

This lucky little lad took a semester to continue his studies in a garden far away - all the way over in the corner clover patch! And boy did he have fun! He met so many friendly gnomes over there and had so many fun adventures that it comes as no surprise that he decided that traveling is the way he wanted to go. It doesn't matter if his travels take him to the Golden Garden, the Garden of Lights or even the Garden of the Lilies. As long as his destination is on the other side of the big blue river, he's a happy gnome. And if he happens to pick up a sexy accent along the way, all the better!

Gnomeo and Juliet

This young and beautiful gnomette may be tiny but she can dream big. She has recently been dreaming about when she will meet her prince. Someday. When she's bigger. Even though she's young, she understands how it works. First, you meet your prince. Then you dance with him. Then you kiss him. Then you marry him. Oh, she is so excited for that day to come! Don't worry, my little one... someday you will meet your Gnomeo. He will give you his heart and the two of you will enter matrignomy together and live happily ever after. Until then, keep dreaming. Perhaps he's dreaming of you too!

PERSONAL GNOTE:
As a special Valentine's Day treat, Daddy and I took Ellie to see Gnomeo and Juliet. It was cute! But the best part was seeing how excited she was to watch a movie IN THE THEATER!!! I made these two tiny gnomes (about 1.5" each) before going so that they could join us for the movie.

The Perfect Pear

These two sweet gnomes have each been searching for perfection most of their lives. They both have always strived to be the best gnomes possible, but just knew that something was missing. It wasn't until they stumbled upon each other while searching the wee world web that they realized what was missing. Each other. As soon as their eyes met they just KNEW that together they would be the perfect pear - the perfection they've been looking for this whole time. With each other, these two little gnomes can be so big! The top of the orchard tree is the limit... and they're going to look so good up there together!

P.S. Happy Valentine's Day!

Paradise

Look how bright and sunny this little lady appears! You wouldn't know it by her looks, but she has actually been working quite hard for some time now, tending to her little corner of the garden (over by the thistle patch). But now she's ready to just stop and relax, perhaps she'll just lay in the sun for a while? And we all know she deserves the break. Where will she go for her mini-retirement? Oh, that's the best part! She and her love have made a little nest by the pond. Water-front property, baby! In her spare time, she has been busy getting the new nest ready for the special day when the two of them can move there permanently. Even as a work in progress, it's perfect for them because they are always so relaxed whenever they spend time by the water. It's a real dream home and the closer it gets to being finished, the brighter she becomes. Soon she'll be living in Paradise!

Hide and Seek Apprentice

This wee fella has been studying the art of Hide and Seek for months now and soon he'll be able to practice everything he has learned. In his studies, he would watch the older students intently and take note of their techniques and secrets. Now he thinks he is ready to put what he's learned into action! He is so excited for the time to come when he can play the game too so that he can show others just how well he can hide. Finding the ideal hiding spot is a goal every young gnomeling strives for, and he knows JUST the PERFECT spot! He can't wait! Won't everygnome be impressed?

PERSONAL GNOTE:
This is the gnome you've all been waiting for, even if you weren't aware of it. I've been wanting to make this gnome for a long time, ever since deciding that Addie would have a rainbow-themed room. What do toadstool mushrooms have to do with rainbows? You'll just have to wait to find out! But I love the way he turned out. This is one of the biggest reasons why I started making gnomes - I wanted one who was pretending to be a mushroom. Too cute!

Wee Hummer

What's that sound? Oh, that's just this wee hummer humming a tune. It may not sound like any song you have ever heard before, but it's music to her ears. She thinks she sounds just like the hummingbirds in the garden, and there is nothing she likes more than those little birds, who are so much closer to a gnome's size than other birds. There is just something cheerful about the little hummers, isn't there? And this wee soul just wants to be around them all the time. That's why she has gathered as many flowers as she can possibly carry. Perhaps they'll entice the hummingbirds to come even closer? But I think maybe it's the humming that is throwing them off. Flowers don't usually hum right along! Silly girl!

Willow the Apothecary

Ancient Native Gnomes used the bark of the willow tree to help mend aches and fevers, and this wee Willow has always been fascinated by things like that. Just how did those gnomes KNOW which various garden plants and trees to use to cure a certain ailment? Willow has always been an intelligent, curious little lady so she set herself out to learn all the secret remedies the Natives knew, such as these. And now look at her! She is so respected in her little gnome community. She's a wise one indeed and everygnome knows they can go to her to cure everything from flower discoloration to nose inflamation. She really knows her stuff!

On Cloud 9

Spectrum has been asked before "What's your favorite color?" but she has never been able to answer. They're all so cheerful, how can you choose just one!? When given an option, such as "blue or green?" she'll pick both! Spectrum is a happy little being who often seems to find herself on Cloud 9. It's her favorite place to be because she can look down and see all the different colors in the world below her. And look who she found up there! It's a wee droplet who wants to play! Of course he's attracted to her vibrant personality - who wouldn't be? Oh, this is going to be so much fun!

PERSONAL GNOTE:
I got this idea from this listing from my favorite Etsy shop. I do try to make my gnomes unique and once I decided that Addie is going to have a rainbow-themed big girl room, it was a no-brainer that this would be PERFECT for her room. I love the way it turned out - especially the rainbow!

Wee Misses

This Wee Misses recently moved from the Fields of Columbines to the Saguaro Desert! Why? For her love, of course! When a gnome meets her love, she just knows it's right! And now she has a big task ahead of her - the transfomation of her new desert house into a magical home for her and her love. She's excited about it all, though, because she finally gets to be near her love all day long. Wouldn't you love that too? Welcome home, Wee Misses! As the Gnomish blessing goes: May your home be wee but your love be grand!

Gnomper Bowl XLV

Not very many people know this, but gnomes have a competitive side too. Sure, most of the time they're friendly, cheerful little beings that lift your spirits, but they also understand that sometimes it's the team spirit that deserves lifting. And nognome knows that better than these two little fellas. They have been waiting all season for this day! It's Gnomper Bowl Sunday! Gnome communities from all around the garden pull together their best teams to play berry ball - a game of strength, agility and strategy, and a favorite sport amongst many gnomes. All season long the teams work and play hard but it comes down to this day, the day when the two best teams (the Peach Pit Steelers and the Bay Leaf Packers) face-off. And of course these two guys are ready to cheer their teams on! Who will win? We will all know in just 60 minutes (that's berry ball minutes, mind you)!

PERSONAL GNOTE:
I'm making it a point to post my gnomes in the order of which I made them, but I figured that in honor of this weekend's big game, today would be a good day to make an exception to that rule. Have a great Super Bowl Sunday!

Thyme Keeper

Thyme is precious and everygnome wishes he had more of it. That's why this wee one's job is so important. He cultivates the thyme to make sure there is enough to go around. He puts the thyme into bottles and passes them out to everygnome around him, encouraging them all to make the most of what little thyme they may have. Thyme should not be wasted. Share it with friends and family. Cook a great meal. Take the thyme to smell roses. Whatever you decide to do with your thyme, do it well and enjoy it! Then come back for more. He'll be ready.

PERSONAL GNOTE:
I ALMOST love the way this gnomette turned out. I was trying to convert the flowers to look more like Thyme. I don't think it turned out too bad, but if you didn't know what Thyme looked like, you might think otherwise.

Bigger on the Inside

"Oh she's so tiny!" If only she had an acorn for every time she's heard that! This wee lady may be tiny but she lives big. The fields of clover are big but she runs through them daily. The blue birds are big but you can often find her near by, singing along to their song. The blue sky is big but sometimes she swears she can reach out and touch it. She likes to think that perhaps her role in life is simply to make everygnome around her feel as big as she feels inside.

Wee Wee Ma Gnomie!

Meet my friend, Fleur. She needs to get away for a while. As much as she loves the columbines and indian paint brushes, she just feels like she needs to go to a new place - one that inspires her. And she knows just the place! It's just beyond the big blue stream - the Garden of Lights! It's a wonderous place where the lightning bugs twinkle around the Tour d'Lis, a grand iris monument built back in the day for the Gnome's Fair. When you see the twinkling lights, your eyes can't help but twinkle right along. What will Fleur find there? Inspiration? Good food? Clarity? Home? Happiness? L'amour? Perhaps all those and more. Good luck, ma gnomie!
